LMA organized an interactive session on “Analysis of various Crafts/Products under ODOP with Special reference to Skill Development - the Way Forward” on 27 March 2019 The main presentation on the theme was made by Mr. Arup Jyoti Rai Barua Founder Director and Mr. Rahul Mitra CEO and Managing Director Margdarshak Financial Services. Dr. Anup Chandra Pandey Chief Secretary Uttar Pradesh Chaired the session. Besides LMA members, the session was attended by Mr. Bhuvnesh Kumar Secretary MSME Govt. of U.P, Mr. Ravinder Naik Director Industries, U.P., Mr. Pradeep Kumar Special Secretary MSME Govt. of U.P., Mr. Sudhir Sinha CEO U.P. Micro-finance Association, Mr. R.K. Singh Additional Commissioner Industries, U.P., Mr. Shreekant Das DGM SIDBI, Prof Shyamji Mehrotra and Dr. Mahmood Siddiqui Professors, Jaipuria Institute of Management, concerned senior officers in the State Government, other stakeholders. LMA has been providing meaningful policy inputs in implementing the flagship policy One District One Product of the State Government. This session was intended to provide support in skill development for scaling up ODOP products.
LMA organized a half day Emergency Management Workshop on 26 March 2019 as a part of its wellness series programmes. There were two sessions-one on “Cardiac Emergency Management” by Dr. Sushil Gattani Consultant Cardiologist Apollo Hospital and the other on “Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation” by Dr. Ajaya Kumar Critical Care Specialist Apollo Hospital. The workshop included a demonstration on how to save life of a patient undergoing cardiac arrest.
Lucknow has been developing into a medical hub with entry of all the reputed hospital chains of the country, Apollo being one of them. On 26 March 2019 LMA organized a visit to Apollomedics Super Specialty Hospital Lucknow which was recently inaugurated by President of India. This 330 bed hospital has 40 super-specialties and runs a day long OPD in various specialties in addition to sate of the art diagnostic services and 24X7 medical care. LMA members were given a guided round of various departments of the facilities followed by presentation by one of their consultants.
LMA organized for its members a visit to Lucknow Metro depot on 25 March 2019. The Depot is the hub of all metro trains for maintenance, control and training of its staff. All trains originate and parked here. The main facilities at the Depot include a state of the art Workshop for repairs/maintenance of trains, a dedicated 220 KV substation, a high tech control room for real time monitoring of the trains and a Centre of Excellence including a simulator for training of LMRC personnel. LMRC has received 5 essential certifications and has already been conferred over a dozen National and International awards and accolades.
Lucknow Metro, a dream project of Lucknow and arguably an ideal and model project from Management perspective was commissioned on schedule and inaugurated by Prime Minister of India on 8 March 2019. LMA organized a conversation with Mr. Kumar Keshav Managing Director Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation, the main driver of this gigantic project on 25 March 2019 to elicit information about this success story. Mr. Alok Ranjan former Chief Secretary U.P. who was closely associated with decision making and monitoring of the project at Government level and Mr. A.K. Mathur Sr. Vice President LMA participated in the conversation.
LMA organized a session on "Wealth Wisdom: Money, Myths and Mythology" with HOLI Milan in collaboration with IIT Roorkee Alumni Association, Indian Medical Association, Rotary Club of Lucknow Khas, AMU Old Boys Association and AWOKE India Foundation on 24 March 2019. It was about taking money decisions, myths around it; how mythology helps us unravel some of the money related mysteries; how aware we are about money management at every stage of life; and how to resolve the dilemma between richness and prosperity. The speaker was Mr. Pravin Dwivedi President AWOKE India Foundation, a non-profit working in the field of financial Literacy. Pravin is a veteran Banker who worked at senior positions in Standard Chartered, IDBI and HSBC banks in various metro cities..Mr. Alok Ranjan Former Chief Secretray U.P was Guest of honour in the session. LMA organized its Annual Award’s Evening on 16 March 2019 in which awards were conferred on achievers in various fields by Mr. Alok Ranjan Former Chief Secretary Uttar Pradesh. LMA Outstanding Achiever Award was conferred on Ms. Zohra Chatterji Former Secretary Govt. of India in Governance Category, on Ms. Divya Shukla in Social Service, on Dr. Veena Tandon and Dr. Seema Mishra in Academics, on Ms. Kanak Rekha Chauhan in Culture, on Dr. Surabhi Modi Sahai in Entrepreneurship, and Ms. Fatima Abbas in Corporate. Awards were also conferred on Community Empowerment Lab for Best Non Profit, on Tawanai Energy Tech Pvt. Ltd for Best Startup, on Mr. Kumar Keshav as Outstanding Management Professional and Best Business Case Writer jointly to Mr. Rohit Dudi and Ms. Mehani Biswas.
LMA joined Bhrahm Kumaris in a lecture on Celebrate Every Moment of Life on 15 March 2019 by Ms. Shivani Verma now known as Sister Shivani. Sister Shivani, is a teacher at the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University. She holds an electronics engineering degree from Pune University and then served as a lecturer in Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, Pune. She has a software business in Gurgaon with her husband, Vishal Verma. She gives Brahma Kumaris television presentations and answers viewers queries. BK Shivani travels in India and abroad including the United States and Canada, appearing at charitable events ranging from the promotion of organ donation to parenting programs, as well as Brahma Kumaris events. She is a goodwill ambassador of the World Psychiatric Association. She speaks on a wide spectrum of themes such as: Stress Free Lifestyle, Leadership Skills, Emotional Intelligence, Art of Right Thinking, Living Values, Exploring Inner Powers, Self -Management, Harmony in Relationships and the Practical Technique of Rajyoga Meditation. She conducts programmes in corporate houses, and many organizations have benefited from her talks. In 2014, she was awarded Women of the Decade Achievers Award by the ASSOCHAM Ladies League "for Excellence in Empowering Spiritual Consciousness" and in 2019, she was honored with Nari Shakti Award 2018 by President of India.
On 5 March, 2019, LMA joined Jaipuria Institute of Management in Book Launch of Not Just A Civil Servant authored by Mr. Anil Swarup, an IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre who retired as Secretary Government of India. He held important assignments including Secretary Department of Coal and is credited with turnaround of ailing coal sector. The book was launched in many cities in the country. In the event at Lucknow, he was in conversation with Mr. Vishnu Agarwal Director Technical Associates, Mr. Alok Rajan Former Chief Secretary U.P. & Past President LMA, Ms. Sunita Aron Resident Editor Hindustan Times, and Mr, Sharat Pradhan a senior Journalist
LMA in collaboration with two Non Profits AWOKE India Foundation and Sarthak Foundation organized an outreach programme at Village Malhour in Chinhat Block on 7 March 2019 in which village folk were given exposure of financial literacy and process of getting benefit of Ayushman Bharat scheme. The programme also included a medical camp and issue of Gold Card to registered beneficiaries required to avail free medical treatment up to Rs. 5 lacs in a year. This was arranged through the Chief Medical Officer Lucknow
LMA joined Brahma Kumaris in organizing a talk on “Fostering Mind Through Education" on 9 March 2019. The speaker on the occasion was Sister Denise Lawrence from London. Sister Denise was National Coordinator for the Brahma Kumaris in Canada. She was based in Toronto and coordinated 11 centres throughout the country. Since September 2010 she has divided her time between the Brahma Kumaris Headquarters at Mount Abu, and the International Headquarters at London. Currently she travels extensively presenting lectures, seminars, retreats and conferences throughout the world. Recent conferences in 2011 include The Philippines Civil Service Commission: Heads of all constitutional bodies, Departments, Bureaus and Agencies, Government owned or controlled corporations, and State Universities and Colleges, Manila Presentations to the SWAT team of Philippines Police Department, Manila Presentation to the 5th International Conference on the Frontiers of Plasma Physics and Technology, Singapore.
LMA collaborated with PSIT, a premier Institution affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University Lucknow in two days National Conference on Sustainable Management Practices held on 8 and 9 March 2019. The conference deliberated on recent trends in sustainable business management practices. Several papers and case studies were presented on the theme in areas of Human Resource, Marketing, Finance, General Management, Entrepreneurship, production and operations. Participants included Business Executives, senior academicians, research scholars and students.
LMA is organized an IT Expo 2019 in collaboration with NASSCOM and Buzzhypers MarComm, an Event Management Company from 1 March to 3 March 2019 Talks and panel discussions of a variety of IT related subjects like Data Analytics & Data Mining, Digital Marketing, ICT, E Commerce, Web Security, Block Chain and Crypto-currency, AI & Robotics and Cyber crimes etc. were organized in the Event. Besides, there were project presentation and coding competitions for B.Tech students and selections for recruitment in being organized by NASSCOM affiliated companies. A demonstration of a variety of high technology products was also included in the event. The speakers in the inaugural session included Prof L.K. Maheshwari Former Vice Chancellor BITS Pilani and Mr. A.K. Mathur Sr. Vice President LMA.

In the afternoon session on Latest in Labour laws, Insights into Industrial disputes, Standing orders Act, Reference/Appropriate Govt., ID Act, and Insights into Industrial disputes, Standing orders, Reference/Appropriate Govt., Retrenchment, lay off, closure, Adhoc, casual, probation, Sec 33-C, Voluntary retirement, Resignation were dealt with. The sessions were led by Dr. R.L. Kaul LL.D Professor of Law, Amity University Noida Campus &Former Asst G.M.(Law) State Bank of India and Advocate Sanjay Bhasin M.Sc., LL.B Standing Chief Standing Counsel of U.P. Govt., Legal Advisor and Special Counsel of many organizations, Practicing Advocate in Labour Law & Service matters in Allahabad High Court (Lucknow Bench). The programme was attended by Govt. and PSU Officers, Human Resource/Personnel Managers, Project Managers, Other Line/Staff Executives.

LMA collaborated with Amity University Lucknow Campus in International Conference on the theme Moving Margins: Studies in Language, Translation, Communication and Social Sciences on 21 February 2019. Mr. Anup Chandra Pandey, Chief Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh & Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh and President LMA was the Chief Guest. Dr. Vineeta Shankar, Consultant with several multilateral organizations, project, Director and Executive Director of Sasakawa India Leprosy Foundation was the Guest of Honour. Dr. S. Ramaratnam, Vice Chancellor, Jagadguru Kripalu University, Cuttack, Orissa was the keynote speaker. There were parallel sessions and delegates from several universities and colleges presented their papers.
LMA collaborated with Franchise India Holdings Ltd Asia’s leading Franchise consulting company in a Business Opportunity Event on 24 February 2019 Franchising India is a Franchising, Licensing, Retailing, Real Estate and Marketing Company and assists businesses in identifying and selecting the right opportunity and has helped bring many established brands to India and help create master franchisee. It provided a good opportunity to explore franchising opportunities to interested LMA members. A large number of brands in a variety of sectors are looking for franchisees in Lucknow and participating in the event which facilitated one-to-one meeting with the companies with prospective franchisees.

LMA in collaboration with Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), one of the South Asia’s leading not-for-profit policy research institutions and Shakti Foundation, another not-for-profit working in the area of Energy and Non-Conventional Energy organized an interactive session on on 13 February 2019 The objective of this session was to deliberate on the path for universally accessible, reliable, quality, affordable and clean power supply to the consumers and chart a work plan for the sector for the short to medium term. There were two presentations on CEEW’s recently conducted studies- Access to Clean Cooking Energy and Electricity: Survey of States 2018 and 'Electricity Consumers and Compliance: Trust, Reciprocity and Socio-Economic Drivers in Uttar Pradesh' by Sunil Mani and Kanika Balani of CEEW and Ashok Pandse, a consumer activist from Maharashtra. Many power sector professionals from LMA led by Mr. Girish were the key discussants in the session and contributed in the deliberations. .
LMA in collaboration with TiE, NHRDN, Rotary Club, ASSOCHAM and IIT Roorkee Alumni Association organized a lecture on Law, Management and Society on 13 February 2019.The speaker was Dr. D.S. Sengar Professor Legal Management, IIM Lucknow. A Senior Fulbright Fellow, Prof. Sengar LL.D was a Post-doctoral Scholar at George Washington University, Washington DC, USA,00 a Post-doctoral Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute Fellow at Canadian Institute of Resources Law, University of Calgary, Canada. He also received Fulbright Alumni Grant Award from the US Government for creating Enviro-legal awareness amongst Indian youth. Prof. Sengar received his executive education at Harvard Law School, USA. He contributed more 100 publications/ presentations in the form of authored and edited books, book chapters and articles in leading journals and paper presentations in national and international conferences. Prof Sengar has been the Director, Indian Law Institute, New Delhi; the Vice-Chancellor, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur ( Rajasthan) and the Joint Director, Academy of Administration, Nainital.
LMA joined by PHDCCI, AWOKE India, NHRDN, IIT Roorkee Alumni Association and UPMA organized a talk on "New Age Banking" by Mr. Karunesh Nigam Head Jana Bank on 11 February. An MBA from Singapore University, MIT Sloan, and Wharton, Mr. Nigam worked with Mercer, a global HR Consultancy.
LMA and AWOKE India Foundation organized on 8 February an outreach programme with support of State Agency For Comprehensive Health and Integrated Services- (SACHIS), Govt. of Uttar Pradesh at Rewan Kalan, a very small and backward village in Sitapur District. The objective was to spread awareness in implementation of Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme which is arguably the biggest game changer in public policy space of the country. The programme was supported by Medical & Health Department of the State through Chief Medical Officer Sitapur who arranged for identification of some 280 eligible beneficiaries of the village from the official data base and make for them the “Gold Card” which would entitle them for free treatment up to Rs. 5 lacs at designated Government and private hospitals across the country. A free medical camp was also organized.
A 100 Acre IT City is being built in Lucknow on PPP model with country’s leading IT services company, HCL Technologies. The IT City is being developed on Chack Gajaria Farm on Sultanpur Road near Lucknow, The project entails an envisaged investment worth INR1500 Crores. On 5 February 2019, LMA organized an Outreach programme/Industry visit to the IT City/HCL Technologies Campus which is a major landmark in industrial development space of Lucknow/Uttar Pradesh. A 30 minute detailed presentation was made by Mr. Rishi Kumar Global Operations Director and Centre Head HCL and thereafter he took LMA members for a 30 minute walkthrough conducted tour of the Campus and hosted them to High Tea.

Annual LMA Managers’ Day Out was organized on 27 January, 2019 at Dilkusha Gardens of Historical Dilkusha Kothi, now in ruins, constructed around 1800 by the British resident Major Gore Ouseley, a friend of the ruler of Oudh, Nawab Saadat Ali Khan. Managers' Day Out was filled with fun and frolic, lots of eats and bonhomie.

LMA, NHRDN and IILM Academy of Higher Learning in collaboration with Vijayash Foundation New Delhi organized a day-long Workshop on the theme "Art of Happiness" on 19 January, 2019. LMA collaborated with Global Neem Organization in International Neem Conference and Neem Products exhibition on 10 and 11 January. 2019. The objective of the conference was to disseminate latest know-how about Neem, which has been recognized world-wide by scientists as a Global Problem Solver in areas of medical and health, crop protection, environment, soil degradation and many others. U.P. has the highest number of trees but its enormous potential is yet to be recognized; the objective of this first International Conference on Neem in U.P. was also to promote the use of Neem products through an exhibition on sidelines. Eminent speakers in the conference included Prof T.N. Singh Vice Chancellor Kashi Vidyapeeth, Prof H.D. Singh Plant Pathologist BHU, Dr. M.A. Hakim from International Center for Integrated Herbal Research and Development Dhaka, Dr. Imi Marla, a Scientist from Germany and Dr. Kamal Taori Former Secretary, Govt. of India. LMA, Rotary Club of Lucknow, IIT Roorkee Alumni Association and CEGS are collaborated with Sahitya Adda's Samvad in organizing a lecture on Leadership Lessons from Scriptures by professor Bharat Gupt on 16 January 2019.Prof Bhart Gupt a Former Professor in English, University of Delhi is a classicist, theater theorist, sitar and surbahar player, musicologist, cultural analyst, and newspaper columnist. He was awarded the McLuhan Fellowship by University of Toronto, and the Senior Onasis Fellowship to research in Greece on classical Greek theatre. He has lectured extensively at universities in India, North America, Europe, and Greece. He was a Visiting Professor to Greece and member of jury of the Onasis award for drama. He serves on the visiting faculty at the National School of Drama, Delhi, and as resource scholar at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts. As a part of its Wellness series of programmes, a lecture on Chronic Kidney Diseases-Diagnosis an Epidemic and Prevention was organized jointly with Rotary Club of Lucknow, IIT Roorkee Alumni Association and Club of Lucknow and Clean & Green Environment Society on 10 January 2019 The speaker Dr. R.K. Sharma, a distinguished Nephrologist. Dr. Sharma is Former Director, Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow. He has held several academic and administrative positions and has received many awards and accolades including Vigyan Gaurav Award by U.P. Dr. Sharma has close to 300 papers and 10 Book Chapters to his credit. He is currently a Senior Consultant in Medanta Hospital. LMA published a Book titled CASE-in- POINT Selected Business Case Studies. The book contained nine case studies shortlisted by a five member Jury out of the cases received in a PAN India Case Study Writing Contest organized by LMA. The book was formally released by Ms. Saloni Narain Chief General Manager Local Head Office State Bank of India on 5 January 2019.
LMA collaborated with ISTD, TiE, IIT Roorkee Alumni Association, AMU Old Boys Association and IIML Academy of Higher Learning in organizing a Workshop on Emotional Intelligence: A Tool for Harmony at Work Place and Family on 29 December 2018.The lead speaker in the Workshop was Mr. M.M. Khan. Mr. .Khan has a rich experience of industry and academics in India and abroad. He has worked as Group General Manager NASH Group, Dubai, UAE, General Manager–Hindalco, Renusagar Power Division, and Chief Engineer, Renusagar Power Division of Hindalco (Aditya Birla Group). Mr. Khan attended several professional courses including a Senior Executive Management Development Program under 3-Tier Management Development from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmadabad, and a one year course on 5S and KAIZEN from JMA Management Institute (JMAM). Mr. Khan is a trained facilitator for GRID Management (Dr. Blake and Dr. Mouton) Tool and a trained Black Belt in SIX SIGMA.
LMA held its 39th Annual General Meeting on 26 December 2018. The agenda comprised receiving and adoption of the annual report of the Executive Committee and the audited statement of accounts of the association for the period of April 2017 to March 2018 and appointment of statutory auditors for FY 2018-19 and fix their remuneration besides any other business with the permission of the Chair. LMA organized an outreach programme on 9 December 2018 at Shivgarh block in Raebareli district in which some LMA members participated in an interactive session in a Workshop on Kangaroo Mother Care organized by Community Empowerment Lab, an internationally acclaimed nonprofit in the field of reducing neonatal mortality, for nursing staff from Government hospitals all over Uttar Pradesh. KMC is an innovative technique for saving lives newborn with critically low birth weight without any medical intervention by skin to skin contact with the mother. LMA team lead by Mr. Tilak Manocha shared that now that now Kangaroo Lounges are available in most U.P. districts with CEL’s support, it is the duty of each nurse to make Kangaroo Mother Care available to every low weight baby of the district. Deputy General Manager, Child Health Care - National Health Mission U.P, Dr.Sunanada also spoke in the workshop. LMA team also went around Shivgarh Learning Lab and was oriented on Neurodevelopment Assessment Study of rural children working under Ms. Arti Kumar Director CEL along with organic nursery, diagnostic lab and oil factory operating in the CEL campus The team also visited entire Shivgarh old palace housing CEL.
LMA organized a project visit on 2 December 2018 to the newly constructed Sports City constructed in Public Private Partnership. The project includes green group housing and provides the most elite living and secure environment to sports enthusiasts with all modern facilities like eco-park, club, cycle track etc. along with medical, educational, institutional and commercial infrastructure. There is a State of the Art Ekana International Cricket Stadium renamed as Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium that has been built at cost of Rs. 4000 crores. This stadium with a seating capacity of 50,000, developed as per ICC standard and suitable for world class final level cricket matches is touted as one of the best cricket stadiums of the world.

LMA in collaboration with NHRDN and IIM Lucknow supported by SBI and NTPC organized CASE-in-POINT Business Case Writing Contest. Out of 31 teams from various Business Schools Pan India who submitted case studies, 10 cases were shortlisted by a 5 member Jury and the shortlisted teams from IIM Indore. IIM Lucknow, Dayananad Sagar University Bangalore, Fusion Micro-Finance, XLRI Jamshedpur (2 teams), NSPL, Durgapur, IIM Kashipur, IIT Madras and XIM Bhubneshwar were invited to make presentations on 12 November 2018 for final selection. The first prize went to the team from IIM Lucknow for their case Vodafone-Idea Merger: A Big Time Indian Gamble; the second prize to IIT Madras for Quilting Queen: Hobby Transformed into a Successful Start-up Rearing for Growth and third prize to Dayananda Sagar University Bangalore for their case Spirit of the Game. A book titled CASE-in-POINT containing the selected cases was also released on the occasion.

Villagers were sensitized about the need for savings and prudent investment. They were also informed about various Government schemes which are available to them. The event included a talk on Start Ups by Mr. Sumit Jain, co-founder Common Floor.com and selling it for $200 million and then starting Open talk. Sumit Jain has an experience of 11 years in entrepreneurship. Startup Jalsa is the leading startup conference in India helping early-stage startups with mentoring and fundraising. Entering the 4th year, there is a PAN India drive which is being organized in 9 locations including IIT Madras,IIT Hyderabad, IIT Bombay, IIM Calcutta , Startup Oasis Jaipur, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIM Ahmedabad, and IIM Bangelore to connect with the local ecosystem of the country. LMA in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh Micro-finance Association (UPMA) and AWOKE India Foundation organized a Bankers - Micro-Finance Round Table on 29 September. The objective of this session was to speed up credit distribution from financial inclusion perspective and find solutions to the challenges being faced in the process. Senior officers of Banks, RBI, SIDBI, NABARD and State Government were invited to participate in the roundtable. Participants included Dr Ram Jass Yadav, GM-Bank of Baroda and convener State Level Bankers Committee, Shri A K Singh, CGM- NABARD, Shri Bhanu Verma,, DGM - SIDBI besides MFI heads and senior Bankers from many public sector and private Banks. Mr. Sudhir Sinha CEO UPMA moderated while Chairman AWOKE India Prof Chakraborty and Pravin Dwivedi, VP-LMA led the deliberations. It transpired that Banks and MFIs would bridge the gap and work closely to increase credit flow. MFIs would target lending to stakeholders of One District One Product (ODOP) programme of the State Government. MFIs should use training infra of Banks and BIRD to bring awareness about changes in the sector. Also they would engage in financial literacy of beneficiaries
As a sequel to a session on Rejuvenation for Growth and happiness given by Sri Nirmal Kumar on 9 July 2018, which was widely appreciated by members, another workshop on Manthan for Success and Happy Life by Sri Nirmal Kumar ji was organized on 25 September 2018. Prayer and Meditation are necessary for everyone. In prayer, we speak and God listens; in meditation, God speaks and we listen, provided we do this in the right way-says Sri Nirmal Kumar. The workshop had a large agenda including discovering Self, and our mission of life; remaining healthy through Gyan Indries, Karm Indries and five elements; effective ways to practice Sadhna and amazing experience of bliss. Sound health, active and happy mental state of Sri Nirmal Kumar at the age of 89 is a testimony to efficacy of the practices covered in the workshop. Sri Nirmal Kumar is a distinguished HR professional, a President and Prime Minister awardee and a Former Head of HR in DCM and Hindalco Industries. He travels extensively to conduct courses in industries across the country in addition to running his own training set up Gyan Ganga at Aashiana, Lucknow.

LMA Organized an industrial visit to newly constructed plant of AMUL Dairy on 20 September. Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. (GCMMF), owner of the popular brand AMUL is India's largest food product marketing organization with annual turnover (2017-18) US $ 4.5 billion. It is world's largest producer of milk and its assorted products. Its daily milk procurement is approx 18 million lit from 18,554 village milk cooperative societies, 18 member unions covering 33 districts, and 3.6 million milk producer members. AMUL has recently set up a Rs 200 crore modern dairy on 20 acres of Chak Ganjaria farmland on Sultanpur Road. AMUL officials made a presentation about the cooperative structure of AMUL before a large group of visiting LMA members before giving a conducted tour of the state of the art world class plant

LMA in collaboration with Department of IT & Electronics, Govt. of U.P. and IIM Lucknow organized U.P. Startup Conclave on 15 September 2018. This was arguably the biggest Startup event in Uttar Pradesh so far which brought together around 450 stakeholders of startup ecosystem like Investors, incubators, mentors and startups. Around 120 shortlisted startups at ideation stage and product stage in different sectors like Education, Health, Advance Technology, E- Commerce, Fintech, and others pitched their business plans before investors and incubators in 8 parallel sessions of first round and 3 parallel sessions of final round. There was a structured networking round between startups and mentors, investors and incubators with one-to-one interactions. Cash Awards for Winners, two Runners up and Best startup in student category, Women category and Social Impact category were given. The objective of the seminar was to provide a forum to the academicians, researchers and policy maker from different disciplines for dissemination of contemporary research on a wide range of issues related to ICT based or digital learning environment in campus specially higher education institutions. As a part of its outreach activities, LMA in collaboration with Amity University and Saraswati Dental College’, Lucknow, organized free dental checkup and health campaign with free medical consultation and medicine distribution in the villages of Laulai and Sikanderpur on 9 August 2018. The objective of the programme was to generate awareness of students about the grass root realities of rural India and among the rural folk about necessity of dental care. Students of Amity School of Languages boarded the Medical Van of Saraswati Dental College and moved to the venue ‘Panchayat Bhawan, Laulai’ where a team of trainee doctors and a resident doctor Dr Pallavi examined the patients. Students helped the rural folk in their medical checkup and get free medicines. LMA gave away certificates to students and the doctors of Saraswati Dental College for their efforts and enthusiasm with which they conducted the event.

LMA and AWOKE India Foundation have jointly propose to organize the LMA Convention 2018 on the theme "FROM FINANCIAL LITERACY TO FINANCIAL INCLUSION" on 27.10.2018. As a precursor to this convention, LMA and AWOKE India have planned a series of pre-convention workshops and interactions with stakeholders on the same theme. A round table of Bankers on the theme was organized on 12 August 2018. The agenda of the round table included the road map for effective execution capability for financial literacy, the journey so far on key financial literacy parameters, challenges and way forward with particular reference to the State of Uttar Pradesh. Among those present were Dr. Anoop Chandra Pandey, lAS, Chief Secretary, GoUP, Regional Director Reserve Bank of India and Convener State Level Banker’s Committee besides LMA’s core committee of office bearers.

LMA organized a SIX SIGMA WHITE BELT WORKSHOP on 12 August 2018 The workshop was designed to explore the basics of SIX SIGMA quality tool towards excellence at any work station among the employees. Six Sigma White Belt is the basic level of certification that provides information about basic concepts of Six Sigma. The programme schedule included Introduction to Six Sigma Concept DMAIC Approach, Case Study Formation Analysis of the Problem Tools of Problem Solving and an Interactive session on suggestions for implementation and feedback. LMA organized a Study cum Outreach programme to Manavodaya Institute of Participatory Development in village Dugaria off Sitapur Road on 6 August 2018. Manavodaya, a partner with Tata Institute of Social Sciences Mumbai, is credited with developing the concept of Self Help Groups now being practiced successfully in all parts of the country. It has trained several thousand practitioners/professionals in NGOs, banks, government agencies and cooperatives from different parts of India and other countries like the U.S., U.K., Norway, Sri Lanka, Nepal. Programmes at Manavodaya, focus on methods of promoting self-help, empowerment and values-based development.The Institute was founded by Mr. Varun Vidyarthi and is being run by him with his physicist wife since 1985. . Varun, an Electrical and Engineering graduate from IIT, Kharagpur and MBA from IIM Calcutta, abandoned a lucrative corporate career to live and work for poor villagers in Uttar Pradesh. What is the purpose of your life; how can the poor be motivated to mobilize resources & work on their own development? These were some of the questions discussed in the interaction session with LMA team and would form a part of an International Course on People Development at Manavodaya Institute of Participatory Development starting shortly. In an outreach programme for Farmers and Self Help Group LMA in collaboration with Community Empowerment Lab, CSIR-CIMAP, AWOKE India Foundation and Indian Oversees Bank organized a Workshop on Financial Literacy and Wealth Creation by Farmers on 27 July at Shivgarh in District Raebareli. The participants were provided meaningful inputs on need for savings; saving instruments, various Government schemes available to benefit and empower them and how to move away from traditional crops to industrial crops to substantially enhance their income. Dr. R.K. Srivastava from CSIR-CIMAP, Mr. Pravin Dwivedi of AWOKE India and Mr. G.P. Trivedi from IOB led the discussions on various themes. LMA along with CEL proposed a programme for impact assessment study on implementation of various ideas generated and accepted by the participants.

LMA partnered with Department of Industrial Develoment, Govt of U.P. in an interactive session in Uddyam Sangam 2018 on 28 June 2018 in which LMA presented a plan to catalyze raising capital by SMEs of Uttar Pradesh through IPOs. He has been a speaker, and has conducted workshops sessions for institutions like - IIT Mumbai, NIFT Delhi, Jamia Millia Islamia Delhi, AMU MBA and Jaipuria/IILM/LU IMS, and AKTU. He currently trains businesses/individuals in how they can design their brands, and their business initiatives.
LMA in association with Mah?shishya Foundation (a social arm of of LeadWynn) and Sewa Hospital and Nursing College of Bora Institute organized a Patient Relationship Excellence Program, designed for the healthcare industry on 16 May, 2018, Students of General Nursing Midwifery, Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery, General Duty Assistant, Home Health Agency participated in an interactive session with Mah?shishya Foundation team comprising Managing Director of Lead?ynn Dr. Rajan Johri and the Director of Mah?shishya Foundation, Dr. Alka Jain, along with Saumya Gupta (Program Coordinator), Recruiters from Hotel ITC Fortune, Satyam Vij (Senior Manager) and HealthCare- Indira Talukdar (Founder of HPH Foundation). The team facilitated exercises and assessments with an objective to make them understand the need of building a strong and accountable patient-nurse/paramedical relationship.
LMA organized a research Group workshop on "Transformation of 100 Government Primary Schools in and around Lucknow by Non- Governmental Interventions" on 21 May 2017. Besides LMA, other members of the group Prof Kavita Pathak Director Jaipuria Institute of Management and Dr. Shirin Abbas an independent researcher participated in the workshop. Presentations were made on field data collected by different teams of Research Assistants.

The speaker was Prof. Bharat Bhasker, Director IIM, Raipur. Before his current assignment, he was acting Director, IIM Lucknow. An alumnus of IIT, Roorkee from where he did his B. Tech in 1980, Prof Bhasker did his Ph.D in Computer Science from Virginia Tech, USA and worked for 16 years in United States including a stint at NASA before joining IIM, Lucknow He has been Dean, Professor and Head of Information Technology and Systems Management at IIM, Lucknow
LMA in collaboration with KPMG with support of Department of IT and Electronics Government of Uttar Pradesh organized a Master Class on Making Lucknow a Hub for Start-Ups on 5 May 2018. A panel comprising Mr. Manan Sharma Founder Igp.com and Mr. Kumar Ranjan Founder LEADS, Vinayak Nath Co-Founder Venture Catalysts Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Bhavesh Kothari, Mr. Chief Business Officer Tapaswi Group Venture Mumbai, Mr. Abhinav Pandey Vice President Start-up Strategy, iBHubs incubator, Mr. A.K. Mathur Senior Vice President LMA, and Mr. Andra Vamsi Special Secretary Department of IT and Electronics were on the panel. Mr. Sanjiv Saran Additional Chief Secretary Department of IT and Electronics chaired the session and moderated the discussion.
LMA held an interactive session on 24 April 2018 to discuss details of its report Scaling Chikankari and Zardozi Industry under ODOP Programme to the State Government which articulated impediments to scale up these old traditional crafts of Lucknow and presented recommendations on creating producers companies, scaling up marketing to National and Global level through International advertising agencies, developing designs forecasting models and creating an interactive portal for chikan and zardozi craft stake-holders under Government?s ambitious One District One Product Programme. LMA organized Industry visit to C.P. Milk & Food Products Pvt. Ltd., a Milk & Food Products major, famed as Gyan Dairy on 16 April 2018. The company was established by the owner Shri C. P. Agarwal. Gyan Dairy?s is primarily involved in production, promotion, sales and distribution of up market milk products across the northern region of India. Gyan Dairy?s wide portfolio includes Milk, Skimmed Milk Powder, Whole Milk Powder, Butter, Ghee, and an array of indigenous milk products like Paneer, Curd, Mattha and Chhachh etc. The Dairy is controlled by process automation whereby state-of-the-art microprocessor technology is adopted to integrate and automate milk processing areas.
An interactive session was organized by LMA in collaboration with Department of Industries, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh on 11 April 2018 at Niryat Bhawan Lucknow which was attended by stakeholders of Chikankari and Zardozi industry. Besides members of Lucknow Management Association and some invited brand and marketing professionals, Ms. Runa Banerjee Founder of SEWA and a doyen of Chikankari industry, manufacturers, traders, artisans, NGO working in this area, a team from IIT Kanpur, Additional Commissioner (Industries) and In-charge States One District One Product Programme, Dy. Commissioner (Industries) and other officers participated in the session. The objective of the programme was to identify the impediments to actualize the potential of these rich age old crafts of Lucknow to scale up to National and International levels to make it an engine of growth of the region and submit recommendations to the Government.
